Contractors received huge salaries but our Troops were going with out Body Armor and Hummers were not reasonably reinforced.
Billions went to rebuild Iraq but many Vets still go without adequate health care. Why?

Congress will not spend our money wisely.

Bush and his Pentagon with its no bid contracts for cronies. Billions have been lost and not accounted for under this administration. (Remember contractors playing football with bundles of cash?) Congress was GOP majority until January 2007 when Dems got a slight majority where little has gotten passed because of the GOP blocking any attempts to investigate or change the Bush administration’s robbery of the US treasury to enrich the military industrial complex and oil companies on the backs of the US troops.
Blackwater and Haliburton contractors have top of the line equipment and are eating filet mignon and our volunteer soldiers have to have their parents or spouses buy them body armor and are eating cold slop.
Dick Cheney still has stock and ties to Haliburton, Bush’s father is part of Carlyle Group which has profited hugely from the Iraq War. Also, they have banking and oil interests. Anyone who says that Cheney has gotten rid of his Haliburton interests is an idiot. Cheney has a “golden parachute” of stocks from them as a retirement package which has made millions. Read the guy’s tax returns. Cheney has also put all of his investments into euro based securities. Apparently Cheney knew what the plans were for screwing the American economy.

You are so UNEDUCATED it’s almost painful to read your post.
1. the Haliburton contracts were put in place by BILL CLINTON….. NOT George Bush and/or Dick Cheney.
2. Cheney STEPPED DOWN and severed all ties with Haliburton when he was named as the VP for Bush.

First of all, let me just get out front with the fact that I can’t stand George Bush or Dick Cheney, they pretty much screwed world peace for decades to come. May they both rot in hell. I say that with all the compassion I can muster.
What you’ve posted isn’t news, it isn’t even accurate, it’s pre-election propaganda generated by a media machine eager to elect ClinObama. There’s no conspiracy, Cheney isn’t doing anything underhanded to line his pockets. This is all heat and no light.
The bottom line is, the military acquisition system sucks big purple wang because it’s hobbled by all kinds of regulations designed to prevent fraud and abuse. The reason the Army doesn’t have what it needs is because America is run by lawyers, plain and simple.

How did Cheney profit from Iraq ?
Cheny doesn’t own halliburton, he never did.
Avtually halliburton, doesn’t even have a governmentcontract, they have no employees in Iraq at all.
Why are troops didn’t have body armor ?
Because Clinton refused to fund and issue body armor.
When Bush took office, troops were still using vietnam era flaq vest.
Bush is the President who funded the development of military body armor for the troops.
Bush is the President who funded armor upgrades for humvees.
As to the VA, Bush has increased VA funding more than any President
VA funding has increased 95% in the last 8 years.
Thats after having only been increased 29% over 8 years by Clinton.
Iraq and Afghanistan veterans still make up less than 2% of the VA case load.
And as to the Carlyle group, Bush sr used to be thier asian advisor, but he left that job before Bush was elected.
Plus the fact that the Carlyle group was founded by a liberal democrat and the largest shareholder and managing director is a liberal democrat.
John Rubstien, was a member of president Carters inner circle.

For several different reasons.
About the IBA: In the 1990s the Army simply did not have enough funding to buy enough IBA (Interceptor Body Armor) for everybody so they only bought enough for ‘high risk’ troops (Special Forces, Rangers etc.). When we invaded Afghanistan in 2001 the Army ordered 200,000 sets of the armor. However production difficulties at the manufacturer level delayed deliveries.
About the lack of armor on Humvees: The answer for this is very simple. Prior to Iraq nobody had any idea that it would be needed. As a result the stuff literally had to be invented before it could get to the troops.
